So here comes our all time favorite restaurant “Urban Tadka” which we love a lot because of its lip smacking tasty food, mock tails and ambience. This is one of most trusted chain of restaurants which gives a high satisfaction level and value for money. Urban Tadka is very popular in Mumbai and having multiple chains in India and abroad. We have tried many of its branches but we love R-City Urban Tadka because of its authentic Punjabi taste and quick services.
Urban Tadka is one restaurant where you will find a waiting queue of 15-20 minutes every day. Though we get some advantage of being a regular customer, restaurant manager knows us well and tries his best to get a table for us so that we do not have to wait for long :-D. The restaurant serves both Non-Veg and Veg food. Since we are veg lovers so have tried only veg items. Menu card is on a wooden frame and has quite interesting Punjabi names of starters, shorbas and main course food. Have a look:
It has dhaba style interiors with colorful bangles, bhangra paintings hanging on the walls, flutes and a handpump add to the village like feel. Seating is all wooden but comfortable and the table is always decorated with mint chutney, pickle, plain raita and Pudina water.
We thought to try new dishes this time as we have had Rajma Masala, Makke di roti -sarson ka saag and jalebi rabdi so many times. All three are our all time favorites :-D. So we ordered Paneer Chilli Hariyaali as a starter and a mock tail named Anarkali which was actually from the speciality of the day menu. Starter was okay but Anarkali was very tasty, just loved it :-*.
For the main course, we decided to try out Dum Aalo Punjabi which is a new addition to the menu along with stuff Ghobi Parantha and Garlic Naan. Dum Aalo was sooooo yummy and breads were okay.
After this we ordered Rajma Masala and steamed Rice…our food is never complete without this :-D. As always we loved and enjoyed the food and as expected Urban Tadka did not disappoint us.
They offer corporate discount on the food bill not on the drinks (alcohol). Finally they offer saunf and jaggery in a tarazu. Have never seen this concept in any other restaurant till date. Staff is very cordial and so are the managers. I think we have lost the count on the times we have visited Urban Tadka 🙂
Our rating of Dum Aalo: 8/10, Anarkalai mocktail: 10/10 and Rajma Rice: 10/10
