Travel Diaries: Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary

Hi Everyone,

Its was year end and i had no plans, so I and some friends decided to go for a drive to  Mysuru. On our way we decided to visit Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary.Although I am not a big fan of sanctuaries but this one is really worth going. Its beautiful and a great place for the bird lovers. Apart from birds the other main attraction are the crocodiles.

Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary in the Mandya District in Karnataka. It is also known as Pakshi Kashi of Karnataka. It took us 3 hrs to reach the destination.

Visiting Hours: 8:30AM–5:45PM

Entry Fee: INR 60 for Indians , INR 300 for Foreigners .

Boating Fee : INR 60

Food: There is nothing much to eat around, so i will recommend you to carry basic food supplies and water.

It was exciting to see live crocodiles. We liked the sanctuary a lot although it was like a Eureka for us since we never discovered this place in our last 5 years stay in Bangalore.

A must visit place for all.
